About Us & Demo Policy
Demo Policy
If you would like to release your music through BFW recordings, send 2-3 finished songs along with details (in English) about yourself including a link to your website if you have one to bfwrecordings@gmail.com
Please, no more than 17MB of attachments per email. A download link is also acceptable.
Do not just send us a link to your myspace and no songs - we do not have the time to mess about with that.
We love all kinds of music (and things bordering thereon), but please, if you are new to BFW, please listen to a selection of our music before sending us a demo. Quite often, we get demos from people who are clearly sending out to every netlabel they can find without listening to the music they release. You don't amke friends doing that!
We get a lot of demos, so you may only get a reply if we want to release your music. You may think this is rude but we just don't have time to reply to everyone.
We release all our music for free under a Creative Commons license through archive.org and sonic squirrel.
If we release your music and you would also like to release it via bandcamp or Jamendo, we will happily include a link to these sites. All we ask is that your release is available to download for free (or 'name your price' as long as there is no minimum) on these sites and released around the same time. If you have physical versions of the same release for sale (CDs tapes vinyl, what have you), we will also include a link to those items.

We're not about making money, we're about sharing great, original music, giving creative control back to musicians and giving the listener the chance to download and listen to music for free.
BFW recordings was originally set up to release the music of Bing Satellites for free in a setting free of gaudy advertising.
I quickly realised that I could release music from other artists on the same platform and asked a few musician friends if they would be interested. The response from these artists was good, as was the almost immediate response from listeners, bloggers and DJs who downloaded the music and shared it a lot!
We set our intentions very early with the inclusion of five music genres in our title - with ambient, shoegaze, indie, experimental, electronica we stated we liked a wide range of music and would release prety musch anything that was good and honest.
This meant we attracted attention and demo submissions from a wide range of musicians around the world. This has now got to a point where we get far more music sent to us than we could ever hope to release!
